Artist Statement

The studio practice of the last few years, allowed me to experiment with and within different mediums (for example: implementing different painting styles) and in doing so, to grow artistically and to develop a sensitivity towards different media that I am trying to channel in site-specific installations.
I try to out this sensitivity by making my installations vulnerable and therefore confrontational. While I may change mediums depending on what I am going to want to express, what I always take into everything I make, is myself.

I am my core subject. My work is about all aspects of myself, maybe, especially so, the aspects of myself that I don´t know yet or don´t know anymore. My installations are a result of the ongoing research into who I am and my place and role in the world. In that, I am a performance artist. My installations are `me-worlds´, they are the changeable results of every `mona-morphosis´.

Through my research in intersectional feminist topics and my living experience as a white, differently abled, queer, plus sized female artist working and living in Europe, I have gained a view of social structures and society which inspires my work. The way in which these insights inspire my work varies.
